Buying shoes can be a daunting and confusing process. Trying to balance fashion with what is actually the right shoe for your foot is no easy feat.  The Illawarra Foot Clinic will guide and recommend the right style of shoe for your foot type and the activity you will be using the shoe for to ensure you minimise the risk of injury and maximise efficiency of your feet.

Podiatrists do not only recommend shoes that are  going to be used in sporting activities but can also recommend shoes for work, dress, school or casual shoes, to match your foot type or orthotics prescription.

Metatarsalgia is a general term used to describe any pain in the front of the foot. There are numerous conditions and structural causes for pain and discomfort in the fore foot.   The most common conditions in the forefoot include:

- Inflammation of joints and joint capsule - Plantar Plate Trauma

- Nerve Impingement  - Loss of Fat Pad - Stress Fracture - Bunions

Our Podiatrists confirm the diagnosis with clinical assessment and

x-rays and ultrasound when required. A  biomechanical assessment is then used to determine the cause.

Once this is identified  a treatment plan can be established.
